About This Spot

Asian Queen 星點心 welcomes you with the quiet hum of a well-loved neighborhood dim sum spot, nestled comfortably in the heart of Richmond Hill. Upon stepping inside, there’s an immediate sense of ease — a place where the pace slows just enough to savor small but meaningful moments. The atmosphere flows between casual chatter and the gentle clatter of bamboo steamers, inviting you to unwind over shared plates and familiar flavors.

This is not a place for rushed meals or grand theatrics; instead, it delights in the simple pleasure of hot, thoughtfully prepared dishes served throughout the day and well into the evening. The ritual of picking steaming dumplings or rice rolls, each bite steaming and textured just right, feels as much like a quiet celebration of tradition as it does a chance to satisfy a craving for authentic comfort food.

The self-serve tea station and complimentary soy milk offer a subtle warmth in the background, quietly supporting the rhythm of the meal without overwhelming it. Whether indulging in the tender pork dumplings or savoring the unexpected charm of matcha-infused rice rolls, the variety feels deliberate yet unpretentious — dishes arriving with steady, inviting pace, leaving space to enjoy conversations and companionship.

There’s a sense of familiarity here, reinforced by attentive service that strikes a balance between efficiency and kindness, often delivered by staff who clearly take pride in their guests’ experience. Even during busy weekend lunch hours or a late evening visit, seating feels accommodating rather than hurried, offering a welcoming spot to pause in the day.

Asian Queen is a reminder that joy in dining often lies in small discoveries — the quietly perfect portion, the subtle twist on a classic bite, the comfort of a place that, while simple, offers a genuine connection to the heritage it serves. It’s a place to return to for moments that feel both everyday and special, where food and atmosphere quietly come together to brighten an otherwise ordinary day.

Great place for quick eats. Or if you’re craving dim sum in the evening hours. The place is self serve tea. They’ve also newly added stir fry dishes at lunch. At lunch sometimes they have complimentary soy drink.

Food is hot and delicious. Decent price. A few special items - matcha rice roll is a must if you like matcha snd rice rolls. Has warm soy drink self service if avaiable.

An affordable dim sum spot that won’t break your wallet. I love the unlimited soy milk that is offered and the tea charge fee that is usually at every dim sum restaurant in the city is waived. Food is pretty solid. Everything tasted good and the portions are decent like the individual har gow dumpling size. They have a promo from Monday to Friday until 3pm where all plates are $5.50. It makes it worth going to eat. I would recommend going before the lunch rush hour to ensure you can get a table as they don’t take reservations.

My new favorite dim sum spot. The food is hot, and very delicious. Everything was good, except the matcha bun (underwhelming). The bun custard is a little grainy. We were also seated right away, which is rare on a Sunday lunch time.

service is phenomenal in my opinion, the older gentleman serving us was very sweet conversational, and efficient. the food came out extraordinary fast and was good. its not usual you see dimsum being served so late (we went at 7 pm) so it was a nice treat. something to note: water/tea is self serve and 10% gratuity fee is automatically charged, both things are not necessary bad or good things but to be aware of since it is not normally seen

Just came across this all day/night dimsum. Portions of the dumplings are generous with lots filling. My fave was the Spinach Dumpling filled with shrimp and spinach. The Chive and minced Pork Dumplings were also a good sized with lots of filling. Classic Steam Ginger Chicken Buns were also very good. Dried Scallop and Mushroom Congee had a nice thick texture. Very flavourful! Highly recommend it. Follow me on Instagram @hungry.jo

The dim sum came out hot, fresh, and full of flavour, and the portions were perfect sized. There is ordering paper, and the self-serve sauce and tea station made everything very convenient. The staff were friendly, the place was clean, and the whole experience just felt really pleasant. Definitely a great spot for a dim sum fix!
